the Wood Now Catalog
Wood is a versatile medium and it has been plied to varied ends over
time, among them shelter, fuel, furniture, vessels and sculpture. Mark
Leach will be developing an exhibition centered on leading edge expression
in wood art. Wood Now will explore the intersection of idea and technique,
with an emphasis on art works that question stereotypes, privilege concept,
and showcase technique not generally ascribed to or traditionally practiced
in the craft sector. On exhibit will be the most innovative, creative
and technically well executed pieces available. A full color catalog
documenting the work in the exhibit and including essays by the curator
will be created. The exhibit will travel to the Wood Turning Center in
Philadelphia, PA following the close date at Craft Alliance.
