A St. Louis native, Katie received her BA in Studio Art from DePauw University in 2002. Katie took her first metalsmithing class at Craft Alliance in 2003: “I wanted to create a ring that would match a bracelet I inherited from my Grandmother.”

From this one class, Katie fell in love with the metal medium. She states, “I love the variance you can have with metal, one piece may be simple and finished to a high shine, and another very detailed with a brushed surface. My work tends to focus on clean lines and the interaction of different metals.”

She continues working mostly in sterling silver and 14K gold, creating different lines of jewelry. She shows locally in art fairs and galleries.
