All Levels 1 day
This class will focus on the use of embroidery stitches to create imagery that is dynamic and gestural. You will explore the satin stitch, couching, and french knots. These techniques can be used for everything from figurative embroidery, to botanical imagery, to repeating pattern. We will discuss selecting color schemes, methods for converting a hand-drawing into a stitched image, and presentation of finished embroidery work. A list of student supplies will be sent upon enrollment. See Kelsey’s textile work in the Craft Alliance exhibition Current Profile, January 11-March 17, 2019.
