Wearable Concrete

All Levels         4 hours

Concrete is a ubiquitous material that is usually associated with large scale objects.  Investigate several methods of incorporating this material into small scale wearable objects through demos and discussion.  You will pour a commercially available concrete mix into molds and discuss the construction of bezels and simple molds. This material is rich with esthetic possibilities including texturing, embedding, coloring and terrazzo. Participants will get to make samples to take home and use as inspiration for their own work. Basic metalworking skills will be helpful, mostly for vocabulary.
