Exploring Methods of Printmaking for Home Use
February 24 - March 24
In this five-week course students will learn different methods of printmaking to use at home. Students will utilize readily available, found objects, sourced from their homes, the recycle bin or their neighborhood art supply store.
Areas of focus will be monotypes with plates, collagraphs with cardboard and matboard, and intaglio utilizing tetra paks. Students are encouraged to collect recyclables leading up to class (cardboard boxes with shiny coating and soup cartons with silver linings, rinsed).
Each student will take home a selection of unique prints as well as foundational skills for replicating many types of print at home! Students will need to wear closed-toed shoes and be aware that clothes may get stained with ink.
