Intermediate Flameworking

Glass Open Studio

Intermediate Flameworking

January 25

Take your beads, marbles, and sculptures to the next level.  Students will learn the building blocks for creating complex patterns using solid-color stringers, twisted cane (glass helixes), and encasing techniques.  Use the magnifying properties of glass to trick the eye, experiment with reactive colors, and change the chemistry of the flame to create mirrored glass.  Students will also be introduced to new tools, which can add texture and complex form to any project.
