Introduction to Collagraphs

October 31 - December 12 (no class 11/28)

Collagraph is a collage-like process that involves both relief and intaglio-style printing. Plates are built up using different textures and can be created out of generic materials such as cardboard, acrylic gel media, carborundum, textiles, tin foil, plastics etc. It is a versatile and experimental method that allows for creative mark-making and the option to produce images from abstract to highly representational. If this sounds confusing, it will all make sense when you get here! No prior drawing or print-making experience necessary!
