School Residency Program

In the School Residency Program, teaching artists work with students over a three to four month period on location at the school with an end result of a student-authored, public work that is installed permanently within the halls of their school.

Craft Alliance has facilitated over thirty-five collaborative mural residencies since the inception of the program (formerly Mural Arts Program) in 1995.  Teaching artists work with students over a three to four month period on location at the school with an end result of a student-authored, public work that is installed permanently within the halls of their school. Students’ work becomes part of a larger conversation that speaks about the stewardship of a school or institution, and its ability to anchor a neighborhood and enrich the lives of those around it.

This program is provided free of charge to participating schools. To learn more, or find out if your school is eligible to participate, contact Michael Parrett at michael.parrett at craftalliance.org
