School Residency Program

Teaching artists work with students over a 3–4 month period on location at the school with an end result of a student-authored, public work that is installed permanently within the halls of their school.

Craft Alliance has facilitated over 35 collaborative mural residencies since the formation of the program (formerly Mural Arts Program) in 1995.  Students’ work becomes part of a larger conversation that speaks about the stewardship of a school or institution, and its ability to anchor a neighborhood and enrich the lives of those around it. In 2021, we are proud to work murals with our student partners at Sumner High School and St. Vincent's home For Children.

This program is provided free of charge to participating schools. To learn more, or find out if your school is eligible to participate, contact Lowell Daniels, Community Programs Manager, at lowell.daniels@craftalliance.org.
