Study Hall
January 13 – February 10, 2024
Study hall is often described as a place where students are encouraged to complete homework, study for upcoming examinations, and makeup missed assignments. Study Hall also becomes a place where we develop, a designated space and time for questions, explorations, and self-development. Explore selections from the Craft Alliance Ceramic Teaching Collection and Craft Library, as well as demonstrations, presentations, and hands-on stations.

The Boneyard
Study Hall pulls heavily from the Craft Alliance ceramic collection referred to affectionately as ‘The Boneyard.’ Most teaching studios retain a collection of bisque work created by visiting artists. These unfinished objects tell stories about processes, techniques, and materials. Frozen in time, these once-fired works serve as reminders of the experience of learning and are tactile teaching tools. Students use these as inspiration for forms, handles, and techniques.
